Former governor allegedly goes into land grabbing in Enugu state

LATEST LAND GRABBING SAGA  BY A FORMER GOVERNOR IN ENUGU STATE

There is currently a new land grabbing issue in Iheala, Nru Nsukka.  According to a confirmed report, there is a land opposite Okunereere  adoration ground which was donated by the people of Iheala community in Nru to the Enugu state government under Chimaroke Nnamani in promise to build a university teaching hospital. After the politics played then, government decided to  take the institution from Nsukka to Enugu town where it is currently.
Now, the owners of the land decided to take their land back since the government couldn't use the land again for public use for which it was donated. However, this lands were donated by individuals who owned lands there.
Now, some of them have fenced their lands back, some have built houses there without knowing that under governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the government of the state allegedly allocated those lands to individual persons and to himself which some hectares were given to Rv. Fr. Paul obayi for his adoration ministry which he promised to be training the children of the community in school free of charge as a condition by the community.

Now, one Mr. Ezema  Malachy an orphan whose father owns a portion there went and erected a fence in his own father's portion. As of yesterday 20th, December 2024, he went there and met people who were demolishing his fence. After several questions, Mr. Malachy went and invited police just as every law abiding citizen would do. Upon reaching the police station, calls from 'high authority' came in which was allegedly from a former governor of the state telling the police to detain Mr.Malachy instead. Like joke, Malachy was immediately taken to Enugu state CID where he was detained for several hours but was released on bail at the price of 30k.

However, it was discovered that one Princess was being used by the former governor in dragging the said land which belongs not to anybody but to Mr. Malachy.

I think this is not the best way to go. Is it not when government wants to use a particular land for the good of the public that people are asked to bring their land if need be? Why converting people's land to your own simply because you have the power?

The same land grabbers are still politicians hoping to be given opportunity to represent the same people they are oppressing.

Whoever is involved should be called to order.

Say no to land grabbing in Nsukka land by a Former governor.
