OPI_AGU ROAD SEEKS URGENT ATTENTION

If one talks about rural communities roads that are still in the state of its  nature, Opi _Agu community road shall inevitably top the list.

Opi _Agu is one of the communities in Nsukka local government in Enugu state which seem to have been neglected both by the government and by many men of good will of which many of them are from Opi extraction.

Opi_Agu autonomous community which serves as a  home for both agricultural and human potentials has received no attention from the government before  and after the creation of Enugu state.

However, it is very interesting to note that this Community is blessed with good farming environments, lakes, rivers etc,  which if opened up will be a great source economic to the state government and the local in particular.

Being an ancient home for farming activities, Opi Agu will unarguably replicate the slogan ' Food basket of Enugu state ' as almost all the inhabitants are richly devoted farmers.

Hosting one of the biggest lakes in Enugu state, called Ozhi lake located in Ugwuozioko will be a great source of  tourist attraction if government takes development to the community.

The people of the community have in several occasions called on both the state government, local and the national assembly members to come to their rescue as the road has become a threat to the lives of the innocent people, but  all fell on deaf ears as the people are being ignored to their fate.

Furthermore, Opi _Agu is not far from the new Maduka university which is along Nsukka _ Ugwuogo road and as result will add to the beauty of the institution.

One may be surprised to hear that the people of Opi Agu Community are still in this 25th century source their drinking water from Streams, Rivers etc as the only sources of drinking water. 

You can imagine a community without good road, electricity, good drinking water, primary health care center and even a standard secondary school, how will such a people live in good health despite the community's potential contribution to the economic development of the state.

However, it is pertinent to also call on the state government of Enugu state, the state and national assembly members from Enugu north to as a matter of urgency and importance, come to the rescue of this community as the inhabitants are currently feeling detached from the presence of government.

To crown it all, even the current traditional ruler of Opi_Agu does not reside in the community as a result of the poor and under developed the community is.

One can be forced to say that it  is not a crime to hail from this noble community and may wonder why such high level of hatred and neglect by the government.

The good people of Opi Agu Community call on the government to urgently put into consideration the  alleviation of the sufferings of the people of the area by constructing road, electricity, good drinking water, primary health care center etc for them.
