I, Chief Kingsley Ugwu, Acting Chairman of the Enugu State Labour Party, wish to address the recent defection of Hon. Chijioke Edoga, the former governorship candidate of our party in Enugu State.
While we respect Hon. Edoga’s personal decision to leave the party, it is important to emphasize that the Labour Party’s mission remains unchanged. Our dedication to serving the people of Enugu State, advocating for justice, equity, and the betterment of our society is unwavering. Hon. Edoga’s departure, though unfortunate, will not detract from the ideals that our party stands for.
The Enugu State Labour Party remains resolute and united in our commitment to the people of Enugu. We understand that political decisions are personal and can evolve over time, but this will not derail our efforts to strengthen the party and continue advocating for the welfare of all citizens of our state.
I call on all party members and supporters to remain calm, patient, and focused on the greater cause that binds us together. We remain dedicated to championing policies that promote transparency, good governance, and sustainable development for the people of Enugu State.
We remain grateful for the support of our members and the trust the people of Enugu State have placed in the Labour Party. Our collective journey toward a better, fairer, and more prosperous state continues, and I am confident that we will emerge stronger from this moment.
