Sen. Okey Ezea: A matter of principle not self- interest

*SENATOR OKEY EZEA: A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE, NOT SELF-INTEREST*

*By Ezema James*

Senator Okey Ezea has always distinguished himself by his genuine service to ndi Nsukka. Like His Excellency Peter Gregory Obi, Ideke offered credible reasons for leaving a party. It was never for personal gain but a strategic pursuit of a position that would empower him to defend and advocate for his people.

His unwavering commitment did not go unnoticed, as the Labour Party (LP) embraced him, recognizing his alignment with the progressive ideology of Peter Obi. Upon assuming his senatorial position, Senator Ezea wasted no time in addressing a critical issue; the systematic exclusion of Ndị Nsukka from ministerial appointments. He firmly pointed out that, since 1999, no individual from Enugu North has been appointed a minister, despite the region’s political strength and wealth of capable leaders.

Determined to correct this historic injustice, he made a formal appeal to the president, Bola Tinubu, asking for nwa Nska to be rightfully considered in future ministerial appointments. His stance was not merely rhetorical but a bold demand for equity, a call for the fair representation of his people at the national level.

Senator Okey Ezea’s political journey stands as a testament to principled leadership, reaffirming that true representation is rooted in loyalty to the people, not party affiliations.
