The attention of the media team to Distinguished Senator Okey Ezea has been drawn to a write up making rounds on social media which linked the  senator as a part of a purported protest against building a market at Nguru Nsukka. The senator through his media team has found such as not only false but mischievous aimed at creating confusion in order to find who to blame should such project fails. He noted that propaganda and false information does not and cannot help in building a market by the government.

The coward who authored a post with the above title had to hide under "Nsukka in Diaspora" because he knew that nobody would believe his lies. Isn't it callous of some disgruntled elements who sit in their comfort zones to concot misleading statements in order to score cheap political points?

Distinguished Senator Okey Ezea, who has been fighting for Igbo Nsukka all his life, can never be against the development of Nsukka land. Within the two years he has been in the Senate, he has attracted development projects to Enugu North senatorial district and has pursued the Nsukka cause through quality representation. The senator spoke up against the demolition of Ogige market without government paying compensation or providing an alternative market where traders could move to. If an "international market" is to be built at Egu Odoru or Nguru Nsukka, Senator Okey Ezea will not oppose it, let alone sponsor a protest.

What easily gives away the post as the work of a hatchet writer is the insinuation that Senator Ezea is against Nsukka producing the VC of UNN for the first time in 65 years. The senator has always worked round the clock to ensure that an Nsukka person emerges as Vice Chancellor of UNN. He started the struggle well before he joined politics. 

The attempt to dent the image of the senator cannot succeed. Senator Okey Ezea knows his people and his people know him. Those who circulate false statements have failed in their mission as propaganda and false information do not build a market.
